There is a distinction in CodeExtinguisher between a template, and a view mode. A template gives the system its look: The header, navigation, crumbs, etc. The view mode on the other hand, is used in the Overview page. A single template can utilize various view modes. For example, in a Grocery store site, you might make a view mode where the records are viewed as shopping lists. In a coupon page, you might show the records as a set of cards, etc. In the following pages we will see what variables get passed into those views so that you can easily create your own creates templates and view modes.
